Global Health: Mosquito Net Update
On Friday March 3, there was a student vs teacher volleyball game to raise money for mosquito nets to combat malaria. Classes raised $25 to get out of class and watch the game. Over 800 dollars were raised! That means that we can send many mosquito nets to Africa and greatly reduce the risk of malaria. Now that our global goal has been reached, this Health and Well Being team is focused on our local goal of improving mental health at Twin Lakes Secondary School. Students are asked to donate board games because having fun with board games reduces stress. We will hold Wellness Wednesdays, where students can come to a calm room, play board games, colour, drink tea, and have time to chill out. We are preparing for Wellness Wednesdays now; the first one will be in the near future.
